Absolutely love the flooring
“The quality exceeded my expectations. Installation was straightforward and the finished result looks incredible. Would highly recommend to anyone renovating.”

SPC flooring is one of the easiest hard-floor options to install, which is a big reason it’s become so popular with DIY renovators. Most SPC ranges are designed as click-together planks, so you’re not dealing with messy adhesives, nails, or specialist tools just to get the floor down.
If you’re reasonably handy, the process is straightforward: you plan your layout, trim the boards to size, and lock each row together as you go. Because SPC flooring is rigid, the planks stay stable while you work, and it’s easier to keep your lines clean and consistent across the room.
The part people underestimate isn’t the clicking — it’s the setup. SPC flooring installs best when you:
Bottom line: SPC flooring is very DIY-friendly, and with good prep and patience, you can get a sharp result without it turning into a full construction project.
SPC flooring is also one of the most versatile products when it comes to installation substrates. Thanks to its rigid core construction and click-lock floating system, it can be installed over virtually any existing hard surface — including concrete slabs, ceramic and porcelain tiles, existing vinyl, timber floorboards, and compressed fibre cement sheeting. This makes it the ideal renovation flooring, as you can transform a room without the cost and mess of removing existing flooring.
Over concrete slabs — which represent the majority of Australian ground-floor construction — SPC installation is straightforward. Lay an appropriate underlay (or skip this step if your SPC has underlay pre-attached), and click the planks together. Concrete must be level (within 3mm over 1 metre), clean, dry, and tested for moisture. Over tiles, the process is identical — as long as tiles are firmly bonded and the surface is level, you lay directly over them. This saves enormous cost and disruption compared to tile removal.
The only common surfaces not recommended for SPC floating installation are carpet (too soft and uneven for the click-lock system) and very uneven or damaged subfloors that need levelling first. For areas with significant subfloor irregularities, self-levelling compound is an inexpensive solution that creates a perfect base. The cost of SPC flooring comes down to a few parts. If you understand these, it’s easier to compare products properly (and avoid buying something cheap that looks cheap).
